Skip Tikamgarh unless you have a specific interest in Bundela-era forts and Jain temples; a half-day stop between Orchha and Khajuraho is enough.
Tikamgarh is a small town in eastern Madhya Pradesh, known for its 18th-century fort and the 800-year-old Paporaji Jain temple complex. Summers are brutally hot, so visit between October and March. Most travellers pass through on the way to Orchha or Khajuraho.
