Watch Hill
Go as a day trip from Westerly or a 1-night base: two streets, one beach, one carousel. In winter almost everything closes.
Watch Hill is a summer district at the southwestern tip of Rhode Island, inside the town of Westerly. Two streets (Bay Street and Fort Road) hold the shops and restaurants; the rest is mansions, a lighthouse and Napatree Point. It works as a half-day to full-day stop, or one night if you want the beach at opening. From November to spring nearly all of it shuts down.
