Damavand
Half a day is enough for Damavand's historic core: see the Friday Mosque and Shebeli Tower, then head to the mountains or back to Tehran.
Damavand is a small city in Tehran Province, 70 km northeast of Tehran, known for its concentration of historical tombs, castle ruins and traditional houses. Most visitors come for the nearby Mount Damavand climb or as a quiet cultural stop between Tehran and the Alborz slopes. The city itself can be seen in a few hours.
