Lake Sebu
Go for 2 nights if you want a quiet lake-and-forest escape with indigenous culture and tilapia; skip if you need beaches or nightlife.
Lake Sebu is a highland town in Soccsksargen, Mindanao, built around a lake and surrounded by rainforest. It is a UNESCO-recognised cultural landscape, home to the T'boli Lumad people. The main draws are the lake itself, the T'boli Museum, tilapia fishing and a slow pace. Most travellers come for 2 nights, using General Santos as the gateway.
