Beaupré is a small town on the Côte-de-Beaupré, 40 km east of Québec City, built around Mont-Sainte-Anne: skiing and downhill mountain biking in season, hiking and the Sainte-Anne canyon year-round. There is no real town centre to wander — you come for the mountain, the canyon and the basilica next door in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. A car makes it work; without one you are tied to the few shuttle and bus options.
