Downtown is walkable and bike-friendly; a car is the easy way to reach the beaches, wineries and trailheads. SLO Transit buses cover most sights but stop around 23:00 on weekdays and 20:00 at weekends. Taxis and ride-hailing work but you cannot hail a cab on the street — call or book.
