Dawsonville is a small town in Georgia's Historic High Country, best known as the gateway to Amicalola Falls State Park and the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Its main draws are the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, a moonshine distillery and outlet shopping. Most visitors spend a few hours here on the way to the mountains.
