One night is enough: see the Snake River Fur Post and the chainsaw statue, then move on. Two nights only if you want a lake day.
Pine City is a small Minnesota town of about 3,100 people on Interstate 35, roughly an hour north of the Twin Cities and an hour south of Duluth. It works as a half-day stop or a single overnight on that drive, not as a destination in itself. The fur post, the river and the lake country around it are the reasons to break the trip.
