BentonvilleBentonville, Arkansas
Give Bentonville 2 nights: one full day for Crystal Bridges and the Momentary, one for the square and the trails. Skip it if you don't care about art or bikes.
Bentonville is a small Arkansas city (about 54,000 people) that punches far above its size because Walmart is headquartered here and the Walton family funded a free world-class art museum, Crystal Bridges, on the edge of town. Add a serious mountain-bike trail network and a walkable old square, and you have a 2-night stop that pairs with Fayetteville, Eureka Springs and the Ozarks. Weekday hotel rates run high for business travellers; weekends are cheaper.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.

Getting around
A car is the practical choice: the airport is 20 km out and the museums sit away from the square. Downtown itself is walkable, and the Razorback Regional Greenway plus the city trail network link Bentonville to Rogers and beyond by bike. Ozark Regional Transit buses cover the Bentonville–Rogers area but run limited routes and hours, so do not build a trip on them. Rideshares work but surge at event times.

Watch out
Safety
- Summer heat and humidity: plan museum time in the middle of the day and ride or walk early.
- Winter ice storms can close trails and make the I-49 drive risky; check forecasts before a day trip.
- Weekday hotel rates jump with corporate demand; weekends are often much cheaper.
- Trail surfaces are shared with fast riders: keep right and call your pass.
- Some rural Arkansas counties nearby still have limited alcohol sales; check before you plan a late bar night.
