Fort Wayne is Indiana's second-largest city, sitting where three rivers meet in the northeast corner of the state, about 2 h 15 min by car from Indianapolis and 3 h from Chicago. Downtown is compact and walkable — a baseball park, an art museum, a 1928 movie palace and a riverfront promenade within 15 minutes of each other — while the zoo, the Coliseum and the malls sit out on the commercial edges and need a car. Citilink buses cover the city but run limited routes and hours, so a car is the practical choice for the zoo, the Coliseum and the malls.
