Melville is Saskatchewan's smallest city, about 4,500 people, on Highway 10 between Regina (150 km southwest) and Yorkton (42 km northeast). It exists for two reasons: a 1913 Grand Trunk Pacific railway heritage and The Canadian, which still stops here. Two small museums, a golf course and a campground fill an afternoon; the town is a half-day, not a base.
