Warwick is Rhode Island's third-largest city and almost entirely suburban, wrapped around 39 miles of Narragansett Bay shoreline just south of Providence. It holds the state's main airport, T.F. Green (PVD), two state parks, colonial villages and clam shacks, but its sights are spread along Post Road and Route 2 and need a car. Most travellers sleep one night near the airport or treat Warwick as a half-day between Providence and the South County beaches.

Getting around
A car is the practical choice: sights sit along Post Road, Warwick Ave and Route 2, and buses are slow. RIPTA runs regional buses from Kennedy Plaza in Providence through Warwick. The MBTA Providence/Stoughton line stops at T.F. Green, one stop to Providence and onward to Boston. Taxis and rideshare work but are thin outside the airport.

Safety
- Post Road near the airport and Route 2 are congested at rush hour; add 15–20 min.
- Swimming at Conimicut Point is not advised because of boat traffic; the sandbar to the lighthouse floods on the rising tide.
- Many outdoor sights are seasonal — some close or run reduced hours from November to March.
- Rocky Point is a walk-through of a former amusement park; much of it is fenced off.
