Monsey is a half-day stop for kosher food and Hasidic Jewish culture, not a base. Pass through on a Rockland County day trip.
Monsey is a hamlet in Rockland County, 40 km north of New York City, known for its large Hasidic Jewish community, kosher supermarkets and shopping plazas. Most visitors come for the food scene or as a stop between Nyack and Suffern. Sights are limited to a historic house and a Lenape site; plan 3–4 hours.
