Brock is a rural township of about 12,600 people on the Trent-Severn Waterway and Lake Simcoe, in Durham Region east of Toronto. Beaverton is the commercial centre and Cannington holds the municipal office. It is a half-day of heritage buildings, a lock, and ice fishing in winter, best paired with a Durham Region loop rather than a dedicated trip.

Getting around

A car is required: the communities are 10–20 km apart on Regional Roads 12 and 23, with no useful bus service. Drive between Beaverton, Cannington and the locks; distances are short but there are no pavements outside the villages.
