Paranapiacaba is a historic railway village in the Atlantic rainforest of the Serra do Mar, reachable by commuter train from São Paulo and a short bus ride. Its compact centre, museum and replica Big Ben can be seen in a few hours, while the surrounding State Park offers longer hikes.
