Skip unless you are already in Bengkulu province: half a day to see the hot springs and a waterfall, or one night if you want to hike Mount Kaba.
Curup is a small highland town in Bengkulu, surrounded by the Bukit Barisan range. It is a base for Suban Hot Spring, Tangga Seribu waterfall and Mount Kaba. The town itself has few sights and limited accommodation. Most travellers pass through on the way to or from Bengkulu city.

The town is walkable. For Suban Hot Spring (about 5 km north) and Tangga Seribu (about 8 km north-east) you need a motorcycle taxi (ojek) or a hired car. Mount Kaba trailhead is about 20 km south-east on Jalan Ahmad Yani; arrange a driver in advance.
