Epe is an Ijebu-Yoruba town on the north bank of the Lekki Lagoon, about 181,000 people, and the fish-trading and boat-building centre of Lagos State. It works as a one-night break from Lagos: a working fish market, mangrove creek rides and a handful of resorts. Sights are thin, so treat it as a slow day out, not a sightseeing city.

Safety
- Traditional ceremonies can bring an overnight curfew with little notice: ask locally before a night out.
- Some police checkpoints are corrupt; keep to known routes and use a trusted driver.
- Carry cash: local markets and most small traders have no card machine.
