Värnamo
Give Värnamo one night only if you want Store Mosse or High Chaparral; otherwise it is a 2–3 h rail stop between Jönköping and Växjö.
Värnamo is a small Småland town on the river Lagan, second city of Jönköping County with about 18,000 people. The town itself is a couple of streets and a square; the reason to get off the train is the bog at Store Mosse, the Old West park at High Chaparral and a steam railway. Base here for one night, not for a week.

- The boardwalk over the bog is narrow — wear shoes you can walk in, not sandals.
