Miles City is a 8,400-person cattle town on I-94 in southeast Montana, between Billings and Glendive. Its draw is a compact historic Main Street, a pioneer museum and a May horse auction that fills every bed in town. Most travellers use it as a single overnight stop on a long drive; the sights themselves need half a day.
