Skip as a base unless you fly into UVF and need a first night: 1 night max, then head to Soufrière or the north.
Vieux Fort is the town around Saint Lucia's international airport (UVF). It has a few local eateries and a football stadium, but no beaches, resorts or sights that justify more than a transit stop. Most travellers sleep here only if their flight arrives late and they do not want to drive the winding road to Soufrière or Rodney Bay in the dark.
