Pubnico
Go for one day as a stop on the Highway 103 run between Yarmouth and Shelburne: the Acadian village and museum are the reason, not the town itself.
Pubnico is a small Acadian village on Nova Scotia's southwest shore, founded in 1653 and still mostly Acadian. It splits into West Pubnico (French-speaking), Pubnico Head (English-speaking) and East Pubnico. Two heritage sites, a fishing wharf, a distillery and a golf course fill a day; most travellers pass through on Highway 103 between Yarmouth and Halifax.
