Limasawa
One night is enough to see the First Mass shrine, snorkel and hike; two nights if you dive. A day-trip from Maasin or Padre Burgos is tight but doable.
Limasawa is a small island municipality in Southern Leyte, known as the site of the first Catholic Mass in the Philippines (1521). The main draw is the National Shrine of the First Mass and the First Cross Monument, plus snorkelling and diving in clear waters. The island is quiet, with a handful of resorts and a slow pace. Most travellers combine it with a visit to Maasin or other parts of Leyte.
