Tagaytay sits on a ridge about 600 m up in Cavite, roughly 60 km south of Manila, and works as a short cool-air break rather than a long stay. You come for the Taal Volcano and lake views from the cliffside strip, a handful of parks and gardens, and food. One night covers the classic loop; two nights if you add a farm, a mall or a day trip. It is a drive-and-eat town with no real taxi fleet, so plan transport before you book a bed.

Getting around

No taxi fleet: within the city you move by car, tricycle or jeepney. Jeepney fares run about ₱20–50 depending on distance. The visitor centre and zip-line area are walkable; most other sights need a ride. If you do not drive, agree tricycle fares before you get in, or book a car with a driver for the day.
