BrewsterBrewster, Ohio
Give Brewster half a day, not a night: the WANDLE museum and a Shearer's outlet stop, then sleep in Canton or Massillon 20–30 min away.
Brewster is a village of about 2,100 people in Stark County, Ohio, sitting where US 62 meets SR 93, roughly 20–30 minutes south of Canton. It is a working small town with two real draws: the WANDLE House, a Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway building that holds the local historical society museum and a restaurant, and the Shearer's snack-food outlet on SR 93. Baylor Beach Park, a waterpark and campground, sits just outside town and is the reason families come in summer. There is no hotel in the village itself, so most visitors use it as a stop on a Canton or Amish Country run rather than a base.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.

Getting around
You need a car. Brewster has no useful bus or rail service for visitors, and the sights sit along Wabash Avenue (SR 93) and the US 62 junction. Parking is free and easy. Distances inside the village are walkable in 10–20 minutes, but Baylor Beach Park and the Amish Country towns are a drive.

Watch out
Safety
- Almost everything is closed on Sundays; plan the outlet and museum for a weekday or Saturday.
- Baylor Beach Park is seasonal (roughly June–August) and charges per person — check dates and prices before driving out.
- Winter roads in Stark County ice up; US 62 and SR 93 are two-lane in places.
- Small-town speed limits drop fast at the village edge — watch the signs.
