Abington Township is a residential suburb 15–20 km north of Center City Philadelphia, incorporated in 1704 and grown along the Old York Road (Route 611) corridor. There is no hotel cluster and no nightlife district; what it has is a 1,300-seat theatre in Glenside, a Gothic-revival cathedral in Bryn Athyn, a 130-store mall at Willow Grove and a small sculpture park. Treat it as a half-day or one-day add-on to a Philadelphia trip, not a destination on its own.
