Guarapuava
Half a day to one night: see the cathedral, the municipal museum and the lake parks, then move on to Ponta Grossa or Prudentópolis.
Guarapuava is a mid-sized city in Central Paraná, a gateway to the region's waterfalls and canyons. Its own sights — a German-planned neighbourhood, a cathedral and a couple of lake parks — fill half a day. Most travellers use it as a stop between Ponta Grossa and the Iguaçu Falls area.

- Brazil ↗Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for many areas, including the Amazon and Pantanal; check with a travel clinic at least 10 days before travel.
