One day of skiing is doable; stay 2 nights if you want varied runs and night‑skiing.

Shemshak is Iran's second‑largest ski resort, 55 min by road from Tehran, with steep, mostly advanced runs from 2550 m to 3050 m. The village is tiny, so a day trip covers the lifts, rentals and a quick bite; longer stays let you explore night skiing and nearby apartments.

Watch out

Safety

Shemshak is safe for tourists; main risks are road conditions and occasional aggressive taxi bargaining.
  • Road to the ski field is steep and may be icy or muddy; arrange a taxi that drops you at the hire shops.
  • Public minibuses are unreliable and do not leave Tehran’s Eastern Bus Terminal.
  • Alcohol is prohibited in Iran; après‑ski is limited to tea houses.
