Guihulngan
Skip as a base: use it as a 1-hour stop on the Dumaguete–Bacolod coastal bus, or a ferry transfer point to Cebu. No need to stay overnight.
Guihulngan is a working port town on Negros Oriental's north coast, 120 km north of Dumaguete. It has no major sights inside the city limits and is used mainly as a bus stop or a ferry crossing to Cebu (Tangil Port, Dumanjug). The nearby Canlaon and Kanlaon Volcano are the real draw, but require a separate trip from Guihulngan.
