Skidaway Island
Half-day trip from Savannah for the state park and marsh views, or a full day if you play golf. Not a base: one night at most, or skip unless you have a specific reason.
Skidaway Island is a residential island 20 minutes from Savannah, dominated by the gated Landings community (golf, tennis, fitness). The public draw is Skidaway Island State Park, with boardwalks through salt marshes and a lookout tower. Most travellers visit as a half-day trip from Savannah; staying overnight only makes sense if you have access to the Landings or want to camp.
