Morillon
Base here 3–5 nights in winter for the Grand Massif ski lift, or 2–3 nights in summer for Giffre valley hikes; a day trip from here wastes the transfer.
Morillon is a small Giffre valley commune of about 500 year-round residents, 20 km from Cluses station and 55 km from Geneva airport. A gondola links the village to the Grand Massif ski area, and the same lift serves summer hikers. There is one hotel in the village; most beds are rented chalets and apartments, so a car or a booked transfer matters more here than in a city.
