Beaver is a small farming town in the Oklahoma Panhandle, once the capital of the short-lived Cimarron Territory. It's known for the annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship (mid-April), the Jones & Plummer Trail Museum, and Beaver Dunes Park — a sand-dune recreation area with a lake. Most travellers pass through on US-270 or US-64; the town works as a lunch stop or an overnight if you want to ride ATVs on the dunes.
