Milford Haven is Pembrokeshire's largest town and one of the UK's biggest ports, built on a grid in 1790 around a deep natural harbour. The docks have been rebuilt for visitors, so the marina, the museum and the Torch Theatre are the draw, not a beach. Most travellers pass through on the way to Pembroke, Skomer or the coast path; one night is enough unless you are here for a boat trip.

Local buses run to Haverfordwest, Pembroke and Tenby, and Pembrokeshire County Council coastal buses serve the coast; check timetables, as many routes are limited or seasonal. A car makes the beaches, Skomer and the coast path far easier; taxis cover short hops.
