Tepotzotlán
Go as a day trip from Mexico City, or one night if you want the Museo del Virreinato and the Arcos del Sitio without rushing.
Tepotzotlán is a Pueblo Mágico 40 km northeast of Mexico City, on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. Its draw is one building: the former Jesuit college of San Francisco Javier, now the Museo del Virreinato, one of Mexico's largest history museums. Add the aqueduct park at Arcos del Sitio and a weekend street market, and you have a full day. Most travellers come from Mexico City and go back the same evening.

Getting around
The historic centre is small and walkable: museum, parish church, plaza and restaurants sit within about 10 minutes on foot. For Arcos del Sitio and the bus terminal you need a taxi or your own car. Rideshare apps work in the centre but supply thins out at night and at the aqueduct.

- Arcos del Sitio is outside town with no regular public transport: arrange a return taxi or drive.
- Weekend tianguis crowds fill the centre streets; parking and restaurant tables go early.
