Paris is a small Bluegrass town of about 9,200 people, 30 min north-east of Lexington on US 27 and US 68. Its draw is one restored 1788 building and a free garden, plus horse-country scenery on the drive in. Most travellers see it as a half-day detour from Lexington, not a place to stay.

You need a car. Downtown sights sit within a 10–15 min walk of each other, but the motels on Alverson Drive are about 2 km (25–30 min on foot) from High Street. Local bus service is limited and geared to residents, not sights; rideshare coverage is thin, so plan around your own vehicle.
