Capul
Capul is a half-day to one-night stop for the lighthouse and Spanish-era church-fortress, not a base. Most visitors come from Catarman or Laoang and leave the same day.
Capul is a small island municipality off the coast of Northern Samar, reachable by boat from the mainland. Its main draws are the 1896 Capul Island Lighthouse on the northern tip and the 18th-century Capul Church and Fortress, built by Spanish priests to defend against Moro raids. The island has a distinct language, Inabaknon, and a quiet pace. Most travellers visit as a day-trip from Catarman or Laoang, though one night allows for a relaxed pace and a beach stay.
