Bonito
Half-day (4–5 h) for the waterfalls and EcoParque, then back to Recife: 1 h 45 min each way, no need to sleep here.
Bonito is a small mountain town in Pernambuco's interior, about 1 h 45 min from Recife by road. Its draws are natural: waterfalls, the EcoParque, a Japanese colony that grows flowers, the Pedra de Rodeadoura battle site and the Mucuri reserve. Services and beds are thin, so most travellers come as a day trip.

Watch out
Safety
- Roads are narrow and winding: PE-103 south from Bezerros and the BR-232 stretch are the risk, not crime.
- Medical cover is thin in town; carry water, cash and a charged phone.
- Waterfall flow follows the rain: ask locally before setting out in the wet months.
