Sapucaia do Sul
Skip as a destination: use it as a TRENSURB stop to reach the zoo or waterfalls, not a base. Half a day covers the zoo; no need to sleep here.
Sapucaia do Sul is a commuter city in Grande Porto Alegre, best known for its large zoological park and a few natural sights. Most travellers pass through on the train between Porto Alegre and Novo Hamburgo. The zoo is worth a half-day trip; the waterfalls and hills are secondary draws. Accommodation is limited and the city centre has little for tourists.
