Know before you go
- This is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Gibraltar. It stands on the site of the old mosque, converted to a church after the Spanish took the town in 1462, and it has been rebuilt more than once since, notably after the sieges.
- The exterior is modest and the inside is calm and cool; the visit is short, so it works as a rest stop rather than a destination.
- Donations are welcome; a small coin is usual. Mass times change: check the door before going in.
