Tibau do Sul is a municipality on the Rio Grande do Norte coast holding three villages: quiet Tibau do Sul on the Guaraíras lagoon, busy Pipa on the cliffs, and rural Sibaúma to the south. Almost all visitors sleep in Pipa. The draw is a chain of beaches under cliffs, warm water, dolphins in Baía dos Golfinhos and a lagoon sunset, not a checklist of sights. Three nights covers the beaches and the lagoon without rushing; two is enough if you only want Pipa.

Pipa is walkable. Between villages the intercity bus (Natal–Tibau do Sul/Pipa line) charges a few reais per hop and runs more often on the Pipa–Tibau do Sul stretch than to Sibaúma; no night buses. Walking Tibau do Sul–Pipa or Pipa–Sibaúma is about 7 km each, on sand and cliffs, so plan the tide. Car or buggy is the practical way to reach Madeiro, Minas and Sibaúma.

- Cliff edges and the chapadão are unfenced: keep back from the rim, especially with children.
- Swimming is safest at low tide in the natural pools; currents and rocks make some stretches risky at high tide.
- No buses between the villages at night: agree a taxi or drive before dark.
