It works as a one-night stop on a river drive or an Amtrak Cardinal trip between Cincinnati and Charleston, not as a destination on its own. Two nights only if you add a distillery tour and a slow morning.

A car is the practical choice: sights are spread over about 5 km and there is no useful local bus. Downtown itself is walkable in 15–20 min end to end. Amtrak's Cardinal stops at Maysville station at West Front and Rosemary Clooney streets, west of downtown, three times a week in each direction.
