BaybayBaybay City
Half a day to one night: walk the Visayas State University campus, see the Veterans Park and eat local seafood. Not a base for Leyte — use Tacloban or Ormoc instead.
Baybay is a quiet university town on Leyte's west coast, known for the sprawling campus of Visayas State University (VSU) and as a ferry link to Cebu. It has a small downtown, a few budget hotels and a relaxed pace. Most travellers pass through on the way between Ormoc and Maasin or catch the ferry to Cebu City.
