Kerhonkson is a hamlet of about 1,700 people in the Town of Rochester, Ulster County, at the junction of US 44, US 209 and NY 55. It is a car-first base for Minnewaska State Park Preserve and the Shawangunk ridge, with motels, farm stands and a Ukrainian resort estate. Two nights covers the trails and a farm stop; one night is enough if you are only passing through to Ellenville or New Paltz.
