Aqqala is a half-day stop for the Gorgan Wall and the 9th-century bridge, not a base. Pass through on the way to or from Gorgan.
Aqqala (Aq Qala) is a small Turkmen-majority town 20 km north of Gorgan, known for the ruins of the Gorgan Great Wall, a 9th-century Safavid bridge and a Thursday market. Most travellers visit as a short detour from Gorgan or en route to the Caspian coast.
