Ray
Spend a half day in Ray to see the shrine and historic tower; no need to stay overnight.
Ray is the oldest surviving city in Tehran Province, just south of Tehran. Its main attractions – Shah Abdol‑Azim shrine, Toghrol Tower and the historic bazaar – are within walking distance of the metro station, making a half‑day visit easy. There are no major hotels, so overnight stays are not recommended.
