Ahvazاهواز
Ahvaz is a transit hub for southwestern Iran, not a destination: one night to see the Karoun riverfront and the White Bridge, then move on to Shush, Shushtar or Abadan.
Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan province, sits on the Karoun River and is the main rail and road junction for the region. Summer heat is extreme (45°C+). The city has a few sights—the White Bridge, river parks, and nearby villages—but most travellers use it as a base for day trips to Shush, Shushtar, and Dezful.
