Clermont sits on the Lake Wales Ridge about 32 km west of Orlando, on US-27 and FL-50. It is a residential city with a small set of landmarks — the Citrus Tower, the Presidents Hall of Fame, Lake Louisa State Park, a winery — and it works best as a low-cost base for Lake County and a short hop to the theme parks. Without a car the city is hard to use.

A car is the practical choice: sights are spread along US-27 and FL-50 and the state park is 16 km south. LakeXpress runs local routes (South Lake Express to Four Corners, the 50 route to Winter Garden, where Lynx continues to Orlando); one-way fare is $1 and a day pass $3, but routes are infrequent and do not connect to SunRail. Taxis and rideshare exist but wait times are longer than in Orlando.
