Anda is a small east-Bohol town with a long public white-sand beach, limestone caves and the Lamanoc point. It is 2–3 hours from Tagbilaran by van and closer to Jagna, so it suits travellers who want a slow beach base rather than a day trip. Most people stay 2–3 nights and use a rented motorbike to reach waterfalls and the Chocolate Hills.

Getting around

Tricycles cover short hops in town. Vans and non-AC Ceres buses run between Tagbilaran and Anda. For waterfalls, caves and the Chocolate Hills, rent a motorbike or hire a tricycle by the day; distances are 10–25 km on concrete and gravel roads.

Watch out

Safety

Anda is a small, low-crime town and the main risks are sea urchins near the beach, rough roads after rain and limited medical care. The nearest hospital is in Tagbilaran, about 2–3 hours away.
  • Sea urchins near the town beach; wear reef shoes when swimming off the sand.
  • The Town Hall ATM is the main cash point; carry pesos, as card acceptance is limited.
  • Van and bus seats can sell out in the afternoon; travel before dark where possible.
  • Some cave and waterfall access is on rough tracks; check conditions after rain.
