Vitória da Conquista
A half-day stop on the BR-116 between Minas Gerais and Feira de Santana: see the Cristo and the forest reserve, then move on. One night only if you need a bed on the road.
Vitória da Conquista is the largest city in Bahia's Central South, a commercial hub on the Rio–Bahia highway. Its sights – a hilltop crucifix, a forest reserve and a small park – fill a few hours. Most travellers pass through on the way to Lençóis, Brumado or Ilhéus.
