New Haven is a compact, walkable university city between New York and Boston, and the easiest stop on the Northeast Corridor that is not a big city. Yale's free museums, the 350-year-old Green and the Wooster Street pizza places fit into a day; East Rock and the shoreline add a second. Most travellers arrive by train, sleep downtown, and leave on day two.
