Tillsonburg is a town of about 16,000 in Southwestern Ontario, roughly 50 km south-east of London at the meeting point of Oxford, Elgin and Norfolk counties. Its draw is small and specific: a restored Victorian house museum, a train-station arts centre, a country-music campground north of town and a downtown street built wide for logging wagons. It is a half-day stop on a Southwestern Ontario drive, not a destination in itself.

A car is the practical way in and around: exit 218 off Highway 401 onto Highway 19 (Plank Rd), or Highway 3 from east or west. In town, T:GO Transit runs two routes Monday to Friday; taxis are Why Wait and KTN. Downtown is walkable end to end in about 15 minutes.

Safety

A quiet small town; the real risks are winter driving on Highway 19 and 401 and deer on rural roads at dusk. Downtown is fine on foot after dark.
  • No scheduled or charter passenger flights at Tillsonburg Municipal Airport; fly into London instead.
  • T:GO Transit runs Monday to Friday only: check the timetable before you rely on it at a weekend.
  • Annandale's Saturday opening is July–August only; the rest of the year it is weekdays plus Sunday afternoon.
  • The Lake Lisgar water park is a summer-only splash pad and slide: July–September.
